Royal Mail says the plan to close the Delivery and Collection Office is going ahead. It won't increase efficiency, it will make matters worse, with more vans driving and parking in Chiswick daily.

Royal Mail plans to move Chiswick Delivery and Collection office to Acton, saying it will ‘improve efficiency’. But what does this mean for you?

For collections:

  • further to travel
  • more traffic
  • longer delays

For deliveries:

  • later deliveries
  • ferrying post and staff into Chiswick
  • more vehicles
  • worse staff working conditions

We say this is inefficient and unacceptably inconvenient for the people of Chiswick, and Royal Mail’s own workforce.

'Privatisation has put profit before service. Closing the office would affect the most vulnerable. Chiswick Delivery and Enquiry Office should stay in Chiswick!' Ruth Cadbury, MP for Brentford and Isleworth
