Corinna Smart for Brentford

Corinna is a retired Secondary School teacher who has lived in the Borough for over 21 years. With a background in Youth Service, she first became a Councillor in Hounslow in 1998 and has represented residents on a variety of committees including serving as Mayor of Hounslow in 2014-2015 and as the Chair of Isleworth & Brentford Area Forum.

Corinna is also Chair of Hounslow Community Foodbox, a local Foodbank based in Brentford which serves the whole of Borough of Hounslow. She is also the VC of the Governing Body of a local community primary school.

As a Councillor she has been involved in a wide variety of casework covering every aspect of the Council’s remit. She has successfully campaigned for 20 mph speed limits outside Primary Schools in the Borough, led Heritage Lottery bids for Gunnersbury Museum and Park as well as Boston Manor House and Park. She also oversaw the transfer of the Borough Libraries from Carillion back to Council management.

Corinna has a passion for Wildlife in London as a member of the London Wildlife Trust she is on the steering committee for Gunnersbury Triangle. She is a trustee of Gunnersbury Museum & Park Development Trust and has been involved in the redevelopment since 2010.
