Hounslow Labour Welcome to Hounslow Borough Labour Party!
Cllr Shantanu Rajawat, Leader of Hounslow Council said:
“The Hounslow Labour Group has always been and will always be absolutely focused on delivering a better Brentford for its residents, finishing the work we started to revitalise the town centre and its surrounding areas, and putting Brentford on the map as a cultural destination recognised across London and the whole country.
“Let us look at some the many things that Hounslow’s Labour administration has worked to achieve for Brentford so far and what is also in the pipeline:
- The Brentford Project – including a new riverside town centre development, a new high street with brand new shops, dining and most importantly, Council homes
- Restoration of St Lawrence’s Church
- A new stadium development which now supports a Premier League football team
- Moving Gunnersbury Park to a trust model to bring in new funding models and improve the park and house and attracting world class events
- Top quality new eco council homes for Orchard Road
- The complete renovation and restoration of Boston Manor House
- The renovations of Boston Manor Park and Watermans Park
- New Brentford Lock development and bridge
- Commitment to a new Brentford Leisure Centre and Arts Centre, while other councils are closing theirs
- Protecting Brentford Library in the face of national cuts and closures
- Support for the Creative Mile and Canal Festival
- Funding for the feasibility study on the Beeline
- A new Culture Strategy for the next decade in which Brentford is at the heart
- Roads that are among the best in London
- 100% of schools rated Good or Outstanding
- Estate regeneration of Albany Parade
“Let us then look at what the Hounslow Conservative Group have offered instead? Absolutely nothing. When last in office, the Conservative-Independent coalition under Peter Thompson’s leadership failed to deliver any significant projects for the area. Everything we have done has been achieved in spite of 14 years of economic ruin and austerity imposed by the Conservatives’ disastrous record in government. They had no ideas nationally and they have none for Brentford.
“We have the vision and ambition for a better Brentford. That is what our candidates will stand for.
“Labour Action versus Tory Decline. This is the real choice for the residents of Syon and Brentford Lock Ward and Brentford East Ward on 6th March.”
