Samia Chaudhary for Hanworth
Samia is standing for re-election in Hanworth, having spent the past four years working closely with residents. She is currently the Cabinet Member for Green Policy and Leisure, and previously chaired the Children and Young People’s Scrutiny Panel.
In her role as a Cabinet Member Samia has been responsible for a number of critical projects, including bringing libraries back under in-house management, and organising the transfer of parks from Carillion, before the company went into liquidation, demonstrating her excellent insight into the sector. Samia has also worked to improve children’s playgrounds across the Borough, overseen the planting of new orchards, and contributed to the Feltham Masterplan and Parks Masterplan.
Samia has been living in the Borough of Hounslow for 24 years now, and has a thorough understanding of the issues and concerns faced by local residents. In Hanworth she has fought hard for funding for community projects successfully, and campaigned for better recreation facilities for children in the ward. She has worked closely with her fellow Councillors in Hanworth to improve the environment, from running street clean-ups, campaigning for the restoration of Hanworth Park House, and contributing to the modernization of Hanworth Air Park.
In her time as a Councillor, Samia has also served on several committees including Planning, Licensing, Co-operate Parenting Panel, Overview and Scrutiny Committee.
