Gurmail is has served as a Councillor in Heston East where he has lived since 2002. A former Royal Navy officer, Gurmail works as Head of Sales for a national food and drinks distribution company and has served as governor of Heston Junior and Heston Community Schools. Gurmail is married with three children, who all attended local schools in Heston. He takes a keen interest in local education and leisure facilities, and is passionate about ensuring good quality services are delivered to residents. He was formerly the cabinet member for Adult Social Services and Health.

On his achievements thus far as Councillor, Gurmail says ‘I am proud of our delivery of the Heston Schools Campus rebuild and Heston Leisure Centre. Both these projects now provide the community with modern educational and recreational facilities for generations to come’.
