Councillor for Isleworth
Salman is a committed campaigner for social justice, equality and the environment. An award-winning journalist, he has served as Editor-in-Chief of two magazines, has written for the Guardian, New Statesman, and Times of India, and is a regular commentator on politics and economics on television and radio. Salman wants to be a Councillor to work for a greener and fairer Isleworth, and to help improve the lives of people living across the community and in the Borough.
Born in Norwich in 1984, Salman first became involved in politics as a teenager, marching against the Iraq War. It was this injustice that inspired him to campaign for a better society whether globally, nationally or locally. Salman studied Social & Political Sciences at Jesus College, Cambridge and Creative Writing at the University of Anglia. After graduating, he moved to London and has lived in Isleworth for over three years. In his spare time, he enjoys cooking, walking, festivals, and has just completed writing a science-fiction novel.
