Councillor for Hounslow South
Shaida is an author and interpreter who has worked with children in care, and has volunteered as a mentor and support worker for over twenty years. She is a long-term community champion, working with Hounslow Victim Support, with her local residents’ association and as a school governor.
In addition to authoring six books to date, she works for various service providers as an interpreter of Urdu, Hindi, and Punjabi, as a mentor, and used to work for social services with foster care families.
She regularly holds Councillor surgeries, attends police panel meetings, and undertakes walkabouts with Hounslow Highways and the Met. From this she takes up resident casework, working with MPs and other campaigners where necessary.
As a Councillor she is concerned with the state of our hospitals and services, budget cuts, cleaner and greener streets and neighbourhoods, safety in the wards, neighbourhood watch schemes, and the maintenance of roads and footpaths.
