Shantanu was elected Leader of the London Borough of Hounslow in 2022 and has lived in Hounslow all his life. He was first elected as Councillor in 2010 and has represented the Heston West Ward since that time. Educated in Hounslow state schools, he has a degree in International Relations from the University of Kent as well as a Graduate Diploma in Law from BPP Law School.

Shantanu believes passionately in tackling structural inequality wherever it appears. In making this the driving mission of his administration, he is transforming the way the Council works with communities across the Borough.

He firmly believes in Hounslow’s potential.
