Sue was first elected in 2010, and has achieved a huge amount to make Isleworth a better place to be in that time.

From 2014 Sue was cabinet member with the communities portfolio. In 2014 the Labour manifesto pledged to deliver 300 apprenticeship placements over for years for 14-18 year olds. In the first year alone, Sue delivered 466 places, as well as creating the careers bus which goes directly out into communities helping young people gain employment, apprenticeships, and training.

Responsible for community safety, Sue oversaw a full review of CCTV, which resulted in a major investment of £4.2 million throughout the Borough being earmarked for implementation. She also successfully campaigned for the Asset Management Plan to be brought forward so that residents of the Ivybridge Estate could receive their long overdue kitchens and bathrooms.

Sue has also worked hard to make domestic violence a standalone priority within the Council, and led on a number of campaigns resulting in Hounslow becoming an award-winning White Ribbon Borough.

Following a murder on the Ivybridge estate in April 2016 Sue held a series of public meetings with residents and children, with young people requesting boxing, football, music and dance activities in the community. In Summer 2015 she delivered the Redlees World Cup Festival with featuring major acts including Revelation Ave and Billy Ocean. October 2016 saw the opening of the boxing club, which now has 134 young attendees on a weekly basis, with a football academy launched in 2017. Sue is working on plans for a music studio which she hopes will open this summer.

Recently, Sue has been working to deliver the Redlees Masterplan, which is now underway. She also campaigned to save the lollipop lady on South Street, and secured funding to implement a zebra crossing on St John Road which should be in place by April 2018. She has been working with the Inspiring Isleworth Committee to deliver an annual community Christmas market since 2013.
