Tom White for Chiswick Riverside
Originally from south London, Tom has lived very happily with his family in Chiswick since 2014 and is pleased to stand alongside Sally and Rakib as your Labour candidate for Chiswick Riverside. He would bring a strong know-how for getting things done in Government, having worked as as a civil servant in Whitehall for over ten years.
Tom’s personal motivation for standing comes from seeing first hand how stretched local public services in education and health have become, despite incredible efforts of front line professionals. If elected Councillor, he is committed to work to protect all residents of Riverside from austerity, from children to the elderly, and regardless who they have voted for. He will stand by Labour's pledges to improve our local services, infrastructure and housing, and to expand opportunities for the next generation. This will partly be achieved through targeted investment in these priorities, ranging from everyday issues such as fixing our roads to longer term decisions such as police numbers, and partly by making sure the Council listens to local residents more closely for decisions on issues such as parking charges and air quality.
Tom is also committed personally to taking forward cases raised by local residents to ensure the Council meets its responsibilities to protect our conservation areas, and treats all people in our Borough fairly, especially our most vulnerable in need of housing and those who are victims of crime.
